Free. Players never pay for anything. The Farsight app on Android and iOS has a free Player Mode, so players can follow along on their own phone without buying anything. The display server for Raspberry Pi, Mac, Windows, and Linux is also a free download. We do not host anything on your behalf, and your game data stays on your hardware.

AI features use tokens. All tools are live on Android: chat assistant (5 tokens), encounter generator, monster creator, character scanner, monster scanner, and adventure hooks (8–10 tokens each). You get 25 free tokens on sign-in; packs start at $0.99 for 40 tokens. A $2.99/month DM Pro subscription gives 150 tokens per month. AI is entirely optional — the rest of the app works great without it.

The Farsight Viewer is the player display that sits behind the TV. It is a free download for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The full DM controller (combat, encounters, library, AI tools) runs on Android and iOS only. A Mac or PC plugged into a monitor works great as a player display host.

The app keeps working. Farsight runs on your device and your own hardware. There is no licence server to phone home to and no cloud subscription to lapse. Your purchase is a permanent licence to the software you installed. The only things that would stop working are the optional AI tools, which rely on a third-party API.
